Two Minutes Hate- Why Are We Learning This?!

Students tend to ask the question: "Why do we need to learn this?!" upon being taught many different subjects, usually advanced math topics.

Learning differentials, trigonometry, and even coding will help you no matter what profession you are, or will be, in, regardless of whether or not those skills are specifically used in said profession. The reason they are important, is that in learning concepts, especially these more complex ones, you tangentially learn how to learn.

Learning teaches learning.

By learning anything, skills in learning are gained, which are then used to learn more efficiently, when the ability to learn well is needed.

The same way doing anything improves skill at that thing, learning improves skill in learning.

So, educators and parents, if confronted by the question: "Why do we need to learn X! We will never use it in real life!" make sure to link them to the IctuateAnomaly blog. Or just answer their question. (but please link to my blog)
